Erayim Aid Trust UK was established in 2005 and achieved charitable status in 2015. It supports, but is independent of, the non-governmental organisation Women’s Public Union Erayim, based in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Summer courses of English language were held annually in Kyrgyzstan from 2005 to 2017. Children from deprived areas of Bishkek and isolated rural communities spent most of their holidays enjoying free English language lessons delivered by a team of volunteer teachers.

Seven annual free two-week professional development courses for teachers of English have also taken place in Ak Orgo, At Bashi, Chaek, Karakol and Bazar Korgon. A team of experienced teachers and trainers from the UK volunteer to lead these courses in their spare time.

A more recent development has been the Gateway project, started in 2018. This programme delivers free after-school lessons in English language and information technology to children living in the deprived suburbs of the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek.
